December 1 (Friday)
Today we headed
southwest to Yuma. Down Interstate 17 to Phoenix, then the 303 bypass over to
Interstate 10. Down Hwy 65 to Interstate 8, then west to Yuma. Every mile we
drove took us into new territory for us. Lots of firsts today.
First time we saw a
Saguaro cactus, first time we saw cotton in the field, first experience with a
four level interchange, first time seeing thick smog, first time we saw them
hanging an antennae using a crane, first time seeing a large solar array, and first
time to Yuma.
 |
| Our first Saguaro Cactus! |
 |
| Four level interchange |
 |
| Thick smog in the valley of the sun. |
 |
| Solar array. It must have covered a thousand acres. |
 |
| There are people in that basket hanging a new cellphone antennae. Yikes!....but what a view! |
 |
| Hey, that's us! |
 |
| Thousands of dairy cattle. |
 |
| Here we are! |
 |
| Home for the next two months! |
And of course, we were treated to a great sunset....
That was Our View
From Here…….
Lots of great things to see and do in the Yuma area , we left Ontario 6 weeks ago and probably get to Yuma in a couple more weeks , we have no need to rush.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time there.
Are you going to stay at Pilot Knob RV Park? I recall you have stayed there before.
DeleteWhere is the RV Park you are staying at in Yuma for 2 months? I forgot what you told us. :) Glad you made it safely.
ReplyDeleteWe are at Blue Sky RV resort (not Blue Sky Ranch, that is a different one). We are here until Jan 31.
DeleteLutes Casino and The Garden Cafe were two of our favourite eateries. Mexico is a very short drive which is good for a days outing. Martha's Garden is a Date farm and has a very informative tour.
ReplyDeleteWill be interested in you impressions of Yuma
Glad you guys made it safely. It's always nice to settle for a bit. Enjoy Yuma!
