December 17 (Sunday)
We had heard about
the Yuma Swap Meet. We had been to one flea market a week or so ago and was a bit disappointed, so we didn't
have high expectations of this one. Boy were we wrong! What an atmosphere! Yes,
lots of junk and some similar goods to what we saw in Los Algodones, but this
was more of a carnival atmosphere. Live music, of course the band was
always on a break it seemed…..but the recorded music was very good. Games and
rides for the kids, food and more food, cold beer, and lots of goods for sale.
Lots of local produce too. We bought four Ruby Red grapefruit for a dollar and they were very sweet and juicy.
 |
| Lots of stuff I didn't know I needed! |
 |
| I was tempted. Who doesn't need a beer drinking monkey?! I saw a guy carrying one out to his car. |
 |
| Nice boots! |
 |
| Cold beer! |
 |
| Sand drag tires for your motorcycle! |
 |
| Very solid chairs |
This antique store had some quality collectibles.
 |
| Juke boxes and slot machines. |
 |
| Typewriters. We have an old Eaton branded one just like the one on the right, lower shelf. I think they wanted $70. |
 |
| My Grandmother had a Singer just like this. |
We saw a small
copper and brass pot that Cheryl thought we should have, so we bought it from a
couple of real characters.
This small stand was deemed a necessity for the trailer so it came home with us too!
 |
| The poinsettia resides on it now. |
I was tempted to swap the truck on this sweet ride, but was reminded it would not be able to pull the fifth wheel.
A very fun way to spend an afternoon.
....and that was Our View From Here.
That is a fun swap meet that enjoy checking out every year, nice that you h]ot there, Be sure to check outage Arizona Market Place think you will enjoy that one as well, we always do.
