January 1 (Monday)
Another
beautiful day at the beach. A great way to start a new year!
 |
| Great day for a walk on the beach. |
 |
| Very calm ocean this morning |
 |
| The outgoing tide caused these rivlets in the sand |
 |
| Old shells make up the rock |
 |
| Millions of shells of all shapes and sizes. |
 |
| Someone went to the trouble of wishing everyone a happy new year! |
Fishing boats heading out on a calm morning. We even saw a dolphin swimming just a few feet off shore.
At 1 PM we loaded
into the bus and went into town to an area they called Rodeo Drive, as in the
fancy shopping area of Beverly Hills. In this version of Rodeo (row-day-oh) Drive the shops
are not very high end. In fact some are shacks with dirt floors where
merchants flog their wares. Quite a street full of interesting shops and
characters.
 |
| Beautiful stained glass. We bought a small piece. |
 |
| Notice the gravel floor. No high price mall spaces here! |
 |
| If they don't have it.....it doesn't exist. Very nice stuff. |
 |
| Thousands of pieces. |
 |
| Metal art is very popular. |
 |
| Apparently the lady on the right has been waiting a looooong time for her husband to finish shopping! |
We
headed back to the Hotel and spent the rest of the day walking on the beach and
relaxing. We went for supper to the hotel restaurant. We decided we should have
some seafood but we wish we had made a better choice. The fish was overcooked
and covered in some sort of sauce. Not good. Cheryl had garlic shrimp and it
was not too bad, just that it was swimming in oily buttery stuff.
Sunset
was a bust tonight though........and that was Our View From Here!
such beautiful colours in Mexico! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed this trip. My sister and her husband are crossing on the 12th to stay at San Felipe. I hope they enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteGo with an open mind. I really enjoyed, Cheryl maybe not so much. I would definitely go again.
