Wednesday and Thursday, September 19 & 20
We went on a short drive Wednesday but didn't take any new pictures. We also got the laundry done and a few other chores.
We were back into Halifax to do some shopping on Thursday. We were also going to meet some ex-co-workers for a beer.

| Sailboat off the coast near Peggy's Cove. |
| Low tide in an inlet just outside of Halifax |
| Fixer-uppers |
| Good sized pumpkin! |
We stopped at Costco to pick up some essentials. I also got some new wiper blades. I was sure they were the correct ones. When we got to the bar to meet our friends I decided to replace the wipers in the parking lot. First one, no problem. Second one, problem. There were no adapters in the package so I couldn't install it! So, a quick trip back to Costco. Now 'quick' and 'trip to Costco' usually don't belong in the same sentence but the shopping gods were smiling on me this day. No one in line at the returns desk, and no one in line when I paid for the replacement blade. Wow! That'll never happen again. Anyway, no issue replacing the second blade and now I have a clean windshield.
Friday, September 21
We packed up and said so-long to Wayside Park and headed across the Nova Scotia mainland toward the Bay of Fundy. We traveled down Hwy 103 and then turned north and west the picturesque albeit very narrow Hwy 8.
| It was a beautiful and calm morning so I walked across the highway to the small cove by the campground. |
| My odometer turned over 60,000 km. Why is this important? My bumper to bumper warranty has now expired. I still have another 100,000 km on the powertrain though. |
Our goal was the Dunromin Campground just outside of Annapolis Royal. Once we arrived and set up we drove into town go give it a first look.
| The Western shore of the Annapolis River. Low tide. |
| Low tide at Annapolis Royal. |
| Lots of neat things to see when the water recedes. |
| They have a busy ship repair facility here. |
| So many historic houses and shops. |
| This place caught our attention...... |
| The owner has been on the news lately for his unique way of marketing his business. Apparently he's had several serious offers. |
| Colourful crosswalk. |
| Kings Theatre. A very old traditional theatre group. |
| Boat at low tide, awaiting some work. |
| Needs a bit of clean up. |
| At low tide you can see the remains of old warfs. Some a couple of centuries old. |
| They pull boats up into dry dock by a sled on railway tracks. Very old but it works. |
| If you want to learn to build a boat they have one on the boardwalk you can look at. |
| Downtown has some beautiful old buildings. |
| They hold a Farmers Market here Saturday mornings. Yep, we went. |
| Stopped for a beer here...... |
| ......and spotted this sign. |
| Another 100+ year old building. The carpenters were quite the artisans. |
| Town Hall |
| Downtown Annapolis Royal. |
| The sign reads: 'Ring Bell, if no answer - Pull Weeds!' |
| Friendly folks. The sign tells people to sit and rest on their porch. Their home is right beside the street. |
| Fall flowering clematis. the little yellow sign tells you the name of the plant and it's age. I'm guessing they got tired of people asking. |
| Annapolis Lighthouse |
We drove around the road that hugs the Annapolis River over to the mouth that empties into the Bay of Fundy.
| We caught the Digby to Saint John Ferry heading across the Bay. |
| A beautiful road to travel. Narrow, but very scenic. |
| We spotted another lighthouse at the mouth of the river. No access to it though. |
| On the way back we had a delay so the farmer could get his milk cows across the road. The sign indicates a cattle crossing but what were the chances we'd actually see cattle crossing! |
| Nice old homes on this side of the river. |
Next, we learn more about the history of these parts.
.....and that was Our View From Here
Annapolis Royal looks like a neat little town. Some pretty unique signage too.

It's about time.
I love all the buildings! The pub is adorable! I love the sign on the clematis wish they'd do that more often on flowers or crops even! I absolutely love the sign inviting people to sit on their porch, that's special!!
