We've had a few quiet days, unless you count the relentless howling winds around here.
Our usual Friday routine saw us heading over to the Pioneer Casino for a few hours of high stakes penny slots and free drinks at the bar overlooking the River. We actually won a few bucks, or should I say ONE of us won a few bucks on the slots, then Cheryl won $50 free play on the draws at the bar. So we managed to spend most of that keeping just enough for supper at Wild Wings over in Bullhead City. Overall it was a fun afternoon.
Saturday we went to a small car show at a mall down the street. A small show but they had some great cars. Arizona climate is easy on these beauties.
Hot rod old trucks are very popular everywhere.
This was a gorgeous Corvette.
Note the grab bar for the passenger.
Note the dog on the front wheel. Too funny!
I love El Caminos.
1955. A very good year!
Supercharged hot rod.
Impressive sound system.
Triple Holley's.
This gut just wouldn't move!
1970 LS6 454 cu in. Wow! I LOVE El Caminos.
Jeepster
Fairlane. Ford's version of the El Camino. Before the Ranchero.
This is a hopper. Air suspension.
Four batteries and two large compressors. This is a 1977.
Not too many clouds these days so the sunsets are a bit ho-hum from what we have been used to seeing. Still pretty though.
Sunday was a do-nothing sort of day. Cool and breezy. Other than some walks around the campground we stayed close to home. We made some calls to family and just relaxed for a change.
Monday the wind really picked up. Seemed like a good day to find something to do inside.....so maybe a movie! We headed over to Laughlin and saw 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle'. Maybe not as good as the first Jumanji movie with Robin Williams, but it was pretty funny. We did a quick Safeway run, then just for fun we drove through a new neighborhood and toured some show homes. Base prices start under $200k and of course there really isn't a top end. Nice enough places for some but we didn't care the floor plans or the way they were built. For example you could see a lot of dirt that had blown in around the sliding windows and the walls were finished in a textured drywall. So hard to clean.
Tuesday we stayed near the trailer. Still windy. We did some research on our summer travels, prepped some paperwork for the border, and overall just hung out and kept out of the wind. This evening the wind has now dropped and the temperature is rising so we'll find some fun place to go tomorrow.
Starting to see a lot of empty sites in the park.
....and that was Our View From Here!
